Quality and reliability

Figures alone are not enough, however. Because comments from our customers are also important, there was room for both rating of and comments on the services provided by our translation company. Most of the companies surveyed agree that we always convey the right tone. Some wish, nevertheless, that the translations would stay closer to the source text, while others would appreciate freer translations. In order to comply with these specific requests, we now provide you with the possibility of expressing your wishes regarding your translation by telephone or by completing the „Briefing form” in the case of online orders. This will allow us to ensure that the translation communicates precisely what you want and also that we convey the right tone and style to achieve maximum impact on your target group. Our customers are satisfied with more than just the quality of our services, however. According to our survey, our reliability is also rated particularly highly.

Additional areas that were surveyed included why companies turn to us to have their texts translated and how they hear about our translation services. The feedback revealed two trends. Google invents a mouth for machines

October 28th, 2011

This week, Google announced that its Android smartphones can now interpret simultaneously between 14 languages via Google Translate. For some, this may seem like a true blessing because there is usually no time to consult a dictionary during a conversation. But can a machine really replace a professionally trained interpreter? TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.’s answer would be, “Certainly not!” Language – and spoken language in particular – is far too complex. Furthermore, languages are alive; they grow and change and are constantly undergoing transformations. A machine is not capable of transferring all the subtle nuances of one language into another. For this reason, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. offers you the services of professionally trained interpreters only, who have all received their training at a technical university.

Why choose us?

Are you looking for the right interpreter for your event? These ten reasons show why we are the right choice for you!

Our interpreting services fulfil the highest quality standards to ensure that your event will be a success.

Terminology – why the investment has paid off for our customers

March 1st, 2011

Terminology – what is it for? More and more firms understand the value and benefits of company-specific terminology, also known as Corporate Language. It means that breakdowns in communication are avoided, and that consistency, quality and intelligibility are ensured. When terms are translated consistently, language overload is avoided.  Terminology is also important to us, because a single Corporate Language simplifies the translation process and increases the quality of the finished product. Nowadays, developments in technical knowledge happen very fast; using dictionaries takes a long time, and they do not even give exact answers. Terminology management is much more effective. Terminology management, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. style Working with terminology consists of collecting and describing terms and making them available in terminology databases. On request we can build a company’s terminology from scratch, or extend existing glossaries. We extract relevant terms from existing texts and create a list of these which we add to our database. For the management of our customers’ company-specific terminology, we rely on the SDL MultiTerm software. A database needs to be maintained, and so we continuously update terminology lists using new translations and texts. We are always in direct communication with our customers. What are the advantages of the free terminology service? “Since you have been translating our texts, we have had very few complaints about mistakes or other quality problems – all thanks to your terminology service,” (Beat Baumgartner, Marketing Schindler). We do the extra hard work and collect keywords. As Mr Baumgartner’s statement shows, our investment in technology has paid off, and more and more business customers will benefit from this free-of-charge service.
