While on a trekking holiday, Thomas Lengenfelder was surprised to hear of his golden win. „I’m overjoyed to have won the August gold coin from Professor Tell,” said Lengenfelder. He became acquainted with TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. five years ago at EMEX. At that time, Professor Tell had not yet appeared on the scene. „However, when the character was created last year, Roman Probst convinced me to become a  Facebook fan of Professor Tell,” the purchasing and office manager explained.

Lengenfelder was unable to attend EMEX’11 due to illness, but he had already met Professor Tell a year earlier at his EMEX premiere. „Professor Tell made such a positive impression on visitors that you couldn’t pass by without stopping,” Lengenfelder laughed. “And as a reliable and unerring marksman, Professor Tell is the perfect ambassador for the texts and translations from TRANSLAION-PROBST Ltd.”

The ecstatic winner already knows what he will do with his gold coin. „It’s going straight into the safe. With gold prices on the rise, this coin is going to appreciate a lot.”

Professor Tell will be giving out another gold coin in September. Become a fan of his on Facebook for your chance to win!

Eye-CatcherTRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. has won the Call for Eye-Catcher at the SuisseEMEX’11. While the dollar has reached a historic low, the price of gold is steadily rising – which makes Nicole Moor twice as lucky for winning May’s Swiss gold bullion coin. „I fired the crossbow at TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.’s stand at aiciti, became a fan of Professor Tell on Facebook and am really happy that I won the gold bullion coin,” said the journalism student. „The crossbow was quite difficult to handle, but firing it with Professor Tell was a fun experience,” Nicole Moor recalls. The 21-year-old plans on displaying the gold bullion coin proudly in her room and will ask an artist friend if she would like to make a frame for it. „That way all of my guests will see the gold coin and I can tell them all about TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.’s golden history.”

“No-Advertising Day”

May 11th, 2011
Jacques Séguéla trifft TRANSLATION-PROBST

Jacques Séguéla

What would the world be like without advertising? If anybody can answer this question, it‘s Jacques Séguéla. Séguéla is the former PR-adviser to François Mitterrand and owner of HAVAS, one of the world’s most successful advertising agencies. His presentation – 50 Years of Advertising Experience, Innovation and Life Energy in an Hour – is inspirational. His experiences are impressive, his statements wise and his explanations easy to understand. Without advertising there would be no media independence, and without media independence there would be no democracy, according to Séguéla. The advertiser Frank Bodin held Jacques Séguéla up as a role model –and rightly so. Séguéla’s presentation alone was worth the trip to Lugano.

Networking

Restrictions or bans on advertising rarely make sense. At Swiss Advertising SW/PS’ 86th General Meeting on 6th May, advertising and advertising bans were discussed. Because the topic covers advertisers, politicians and journalists, this General Meeting was named “No-Advertising Day.”

After the introductory speech by Jacques Séguéla, well-known politicians, journalists and media professionals spoke about and discussed “A World without Advertising?“ under the leadership of National Council member Filippo Leutenegger:

  • Roger Brennwald, president of Swiss Indoors Basel: “Sport without Advertising”
  • Roger de Weck, CEO SRG: “Electronic Media without Advertising?”
  • Hanspeter Lebrument, president of Swiss Media: “Print Media without Advertising?”
  • Natalie Rickli, National Council member: “Politics without Advertising?”
  • Michael Gibbert, Professor of Marketing at the USI (University of Lugano): “Economics without Advertising?”

Congratulations and many thanks for a successful event to Filippo Lombardi (National Council member and president of Swiss Advertising), Ursula Gamper (SW CEO) and Urs Schnider (SW Communications Officer).
