Improved customer evaluations. Two more awards. A 30% increase in turnover.

January 20th, 2014

With a 30% increase in turnover, even better customer evaluations and two more awards, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. was no stranger to success in 2013, either. The year in review.

Despite the difficult economic conditions of the past years, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. managed to increase its turnover by a further 30% in 2013 – not least due to investments in the area of employee development and quality improvement.

Our customers gave us a grade of 5.65

Translation Probst Team

At TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd., every customer can complete a systematic evaluation for each text they receive. In order to ensure that as many customers as possible fill out the evaluations, we hold regular draws for the participants in which we give away a gold bullion coin – very fitting for our motto “Accurate texts are worth their weight in gold”. Read what the lucky winners have to say about their unexpected golden bounty here.

In 2012, the average grade given in the customer evaluations was already a respectable 5.6 (6 = very good). In 2013, we were able to raise the grade average once again, to 5.65, due to a very high level of customer satisfaction. A total of over 500 customers graded the content, style, tone, terminology and target-group adaptation of our texts and translations.

More awards and honours

After we became the only translation company in Switzerland to be recognised by the Swiss Confederation’s Commission for Technology and Innovation in 2012, we were the happy recipients of additional awards and honours in 2013, and:

  • In April 2013, we won second place in the Stellenschafferpreis competition sponsored by Location Promotion Winterthur.
  • In November 2013, we achieved a top-ten placing at the prestigious PwC Accelerator’s “Local to Global” Expo in Luxembourg from a select field of 20 international, rapidly growing companies.

Next year, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. will already be celebrating its tenth anniversary. Save the date now – Thursday 16th April 2015 – so you can look forward to what we have planned.

The outlook for 2014

We will do whatever it takes to ensure that our high grade average keeps rising. Our goal is to have a grade average of over 5.7 in 2014.
The first priority is the continued staff development of our valued, committed and expert employees, whom we must thank for our growth of over 30% in 2013.
Another top priority is investment in our technology, in particular in CRM, for which we have received multiple awards during the past years. Our company will have a high six-figure amount at its disposal as an investment budget in 2014.
In addition to increased investments in staffing and technology, which are the true drivers of customer satisfaction, our strategic corporate management will be expanded further: Dr. Rolf Specht, professor at ETH Zurich (Psychology and Theology), is adding his strengths to the company as of 1st January 2014 in the role of president of the board.

I would like to thank all of our customers, partners and members of the media for the tremendous cooperation we enjoyed in 2013 and wish everyone a successful start to 2014.

Roman Probst’s presentation: TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. as a best-practice example for terminology and corporate language

February 28th, 2012

SDL, the world’s leading software company in the area of translation and terminology management, is coming to Basel on March 16 with a best-practice roadshow for translation agencies. This time the focus will be on sharing the importance of corporate language/terminology with Swiss translation services providers. In addition to this, the question of how terminology can be implemented practically will also be addressed.

TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. has made a name for itself by being the first and as of yet only translation company to offer a free terminology service to its core customers. Our reputation is such that our LSP partner, SDL, has invited Roman Probst, CEO of our company, to attend the roadshow as a best-practice speaker. On 16 March 2012, Roman Probst will give a presentation there on the topic of “The importance of terminology in the context of corporate language”. He will demonstrate how uniform and consistent terminology produces significant added value, and how the creation of terminology databases is handled at TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.

Terminology is a key component of corporate identity, which is strengthened immensely by the use of uniform terminology. Another benefit is the increased degree of recognition among customers that a company experiences thanks to consistent corporate language. This also helps a company differentiate itself from the competition. Furthermore, because the need for specialised translations and the number of target languages are continually growing, uniform terminology is indispensable and ultimately invaluable. To meet these demands, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. offers a comprehensive terminology service – and it’s even free for our core customers.

Are you a translator or do you work in a translation agency? Register for the roadshow now.

Top marks and podium places for TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.

December 30th, 2011

Team TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.

The year 2011 saw the team from TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. in pursuit of awards and participating in a veritable gold rush. The popular „Gold coin for Facebook fans of Professor Tell“ monthly contest initiated the gold rush, keeping its fan community on tenterhooks each month.

The first award for TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.  arrived in the spring. Roman Probst reached the finals of the ‘Inno-Slams’ at the Tourism Pool Innovation Forum in Baden with his „Client Catcher“ partnership model. Motivated by positive feedback, the certified translation company carried out a satisfaction survey involving its 100 largest corporate clients. The results were gratifying, with a mark of 5.13 out of 6 for content, tone and style of translations as well as for their target-group affinity, precise terminology and suitability for the intended purpose.

Buoyed up by this success, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. struck gold twice in the summer with Professor Tell. At SuisseEMEX’11, the largest Swiss trade fair for marketing and communication, we won the „Call for Eye-Catcher“ award, and the Professor Tell campaign made the Top 10 in the „Swiss Social Media Award“. The autumn took on a golden sheen with TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.’s qualification for the final round of the selection process for the federally sponsored „CTI Start-Up Label“ and expansion of the company’s corporate structure with the addition of Business Development and Sales Management departments.

Roman Probst featured speaker at 7th “Award CC” prize ceremony

September 23rd, 2011

Award Corporate Communications, the jury awarded a “Communicator” to the most innovative campaigns. Before the ceremony took place, Roman Probst spoke about the role of social media in corporate communications together with Dr. Guido Keel, lecturer and media scientist, and Google expert Beat Z’graggen.

The winners of this year’s Award CC were the vocational training association “login Berufsbildung” and the Zurich agency “Jung von Matt/Limmat Public Relations” with their respective campaigns “Login macht Erfolgsstorys möglich” and “Tecmania – steig ein in die Welt der Technik”. In addition to the Award CC, a category prize for social media campaigns was also awarded for the first time in Switzerland. After an intense voting period with more than 8,400 people participating via Facebook, the deal provider “DeinDeal.ch” took top honours. TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. came in 8th with its Professor Tell campaign and even beat out the campaigns from Calida, Gillette and Mammut.

The time between the prize ceremonies was highlighted by a wide variety of exciting presentations. Hanning Kempe, CEO of the competition’s sponsor, Grayling Switzerland, addressed the very relevant topic of currency exchange rates with his presentation entitled “Communication in the tense setting of the euro crisis”. Prior to this, Roman Probst, CEO of TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd., spoke about the role of social media in corporate communications together with Dr. Guido Keel, lecturer and media scientist at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, and Google expert Beat Z’graggen. Guido Keel made the statement that “only when the target audience recognises the added value of a social media application is value created for the company as well”. Beat Z’graggen and Roman Probst went on to explain what this recognition signifies in a practical sense.
