Roman Probst’s presentation: TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. as a best-practice example for terminology and corporate language

February 28th, 2012

SDL, the world’s leading software company in the area of translation and terminology management, is coming to Basel on March 16 with a best-practice roadshow for translation agencies. This time the focus will be on sharing the importance of corporate language/terminology with Swiss translation services providers. In addition to this, the question of how terminology can be implemented practically will also be addressed.

TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. has made a name for itself by being the first and as of yet only translation company to offer a free terminology service to its core customers. Our reputation is such that our LSP partner, SDL, has invited Roman Probst, CEO of our company, to attend the roadshow as a best-practice speaker. On 16 March 2012, Roman Probst will give a presentation there on the topic of “The importance of terminology in the context of corporate language”. He will demonstrate how uniform and consistent terminology produces significant added value, and how the creation of terminology databases is handled at TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.

Terminology is a key component of corporate identity, which is strengthened immensely by the use of uniform terminology. Another benefit is the increased degree of recognition among customers that a company experiences thanks to consistent corporate language. This also helps a company differentiate itself from the competition. Furthermore, because the need for specialised translations and the number of target languages are continually growing, uniform terminology is indispensable and ultimately invaluable. To meet these demands, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. offers a comprehensive terminology service – and it’s even free for our core customers.

Are you a translator or do you work in a translation agency? Register for the roadshow now.

Fast, productive, simple – TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. relies on the market-leading SDL Trados Studio translation software

December 19th, 2011

SDL Trados Studio 2009 introduced many new elements that simplified the translation process and now the latest generation of SDL Trados has been launched. SDL Trados Studio 2011 offers even more functions that vastly improve the translation and correction process. TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. is keeping up with this innovative technology and will be relying on the new version of SDL Trados Studio in 2012.

Translation projects can be completed more quickly because the software ensures that translators have quick access to content that has already been translated. In addition, our customers do not have to worry about compatibility or layout issues since the SDL Trados Studio 2011 software accepts a wide variety of file types, enabling translations in extremely diverse layouts and file formats. Exact adherence to correct terminology is a deciding factor in creating top-quality translations. Thanks to the integration of SDL MultiTerm in our translation and correction processes, our customers can rest assured that we will always provide the right term in the right place.

By implementing this translation software, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. is able to offer its customers consistent translations on a long-term basis.

Efficient and cost-effective further training thanks to webinars

November 25th, 2011

Interactive seminars via the internet – known as ‘webinars’ – are on the rise. TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. recognised this trend two years ago and has been taking advantage of its benefits ever since. A webinar enables interactions between lecturer and audience and thus offers a cost-effective and efficient opportunity for participants to expand their know-how in a specific area. Because webinars take place online, long travel times are also avoided. Registering with a mouse click is extremely easy. The role of webinars in professional and in-house further training will only increase in significance in the future.

Always up-to-date

The employees at TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. participate in webinars on the topic of translation, e.g. about Trados or MultiTerm. This allows us to ensure that our team is constantly updating its expertise. Improved know-how leads to improved efficiency of work processes and ultimately to the high quality of our finished products.
