How satisfied are our customers? The results of our customer survey have now been analysed:

Raiffeisen, Adecco, Schindler, Zürich Tourism and 100 other corporate clients have evaluated the services of TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. Read on to find out why our translation service achieved an average rating of 5.15 out of 6 and which criteria were used to assess our translations, texts and other services.

In the survey, we asked our corporate customers how satisfied they were with the quality of our translations, texts and services. The participants evaluated content, accuracy, tone, terminology and style as well as target-group conformity and customer friendliness. Over a period of several months, the services of our translation company were evaluated using a rating system from 1 (very poor) to 6 (very good). TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. achieved an excellent average rating of 5.15 in the customer survey – which was especially gratifying, as whose feedback is more honest and valuable than that of the customer?

Quality and reliability

Figures alone are not enough, however. Because comments from our customers are also important, there was room for both rating of and comments on the services provided by our translation company. Most of the companies surveyed agree that we always convey the right tone. Some wish, nevertheless, that the translations would stay closer to the source text, while others would appreciate freer translations. In order to comply with these specific requests, we now provide you with the possibility of expressing your wishes regarding your translation by telephone or by completing the „Briefing form” in the case of online orders. The year 2011 saw the team from TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. in pursuit of awards and participating in a veritable gold rush. The popular „Gold coin for Facebook fans of Professor Tell“ monthly contest initiated the gold rush, keeping its fan community on tenterhooks each month.

The first award for TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.  arrived in the spring. Roman Probst reached the finals of the ‘Inno-Slams’ at the Tourism Pool Innovation Forum in Baden with his „Client Catcher“ partnership model. Motivated by positive feedback, the certified translation company carried out a satisfaction survey involving its 100 largest corporate clients. The results were gratifying, with a mark of 5.13 out of 6 for content, tone and style of translations as well as for their target-group affinity, precise terminology and suitability for the intended purpose.

Buoyed up by this success, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. struck gold twice in the summer with Professor Tell. At SuisseEMEX’11, the largest Swiss trade fair for marketing and communication, we won the „Call for Eye-Catcher“ award, and the Professor Tell campaign made the Top 10 in the „Swiss Social Media Award“. Half way around the world in 5 years

Just in time for the New Year, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. has completed its 20,000th order. If each individual order was seen as covering a distance of one kilometre, 20,000 orders would amount to a distance of 20,000 kilometres. We’ve come a long way. If we spin out this idea, TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. could be said to have travelled half way around the world since it was established in April 2005.

Swiss economy: putting on the brakes or in the fast lane?

As Radio DRS recently announced (listen to the podcast here), the Swiss economy has surpassed all growth forecasts. The reason for this is the strong domestic market and the high number of successful medium-sized companies that have a competitive edge thanks to the excellence of what they have to offer. The high level of quality of their products is difficult to find elsewhere. Furthermore, they are important suppliers to large companies.

But according to Radio DRS, there are also some sectors that are currently suffering. These include the tourism and export industries. The blame for this lies mainly with low euro and dollar exchange rates. Unless this „currency crisis” comes to an end in the foreseeable future- and many predict that it won’t- it will become even more difficult for businesses in these industries.

If export and tourism businesses want to succeed, they must- according to economic experts- not focus purely on local markets. A more specialised, more targeted international focus is required.

An innovative medium-sized company that has ventured abroad is the bag manufacturer FREITAG. As reported in, “Marketing & Kommunikation” issue 11/10 (see article), FREITAG is based on Swiss values, fashionable collections as well as sophisticated marketing. In 2010, FREITAG recorded growth of 20-25 percent.

TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. has provided translation services for FREITAG for some time. In its texts, the export company uses a lot of wit, whilst retaining grammatical accuracy. The texts are adapted to FREITAG’s target audiences, and they are translated by native speaking translators with expertise in marketing and communications. Translators are supported by computer-based terminology software (SDL MultiTerm), to ensure consistency when translating customers’ texts. However, it is not enough to translate these texts word-for-word. It takes a lot of imagination and background knowledge to translate word play, metaphors and hidden references. TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. is pleased to be able to make a contribution to FREITAG’s linguistic identity and export success.

TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. had a similar success last year too. The trade magazine Werbewoche commissioned a study to rank and evaluate Swiss advertising campaigns, which also looked at Isostar’s campaign focussing on the Swiss marathon runner, Röthlin. Here TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd.’s texts won prizes in the categories „Awareness” and „Brand Fit” (see Working Examples).

First partner in Spain!

TRANSLATION-PROBST Ltd. has over 70 partners in Switzerland, but we want to go beyond the Swiss borders. Our next challenge is to find new partners in Spain, and we’ve already had some success. Our first partner there is Merkley.
